I've had the pleasure of working for Jolt since 2017, getting my foot in the door through a volunteer programme when I was training to become a teacher. Since then, I have mostly been tutoring and assisting in the Junior and Young Adults classes and in 2022 became a facilitator for the Move programme.
Jolt helped to develop my passion for the disability community which then led to my full-time job as a special education teacher at Ferndale School. I love that Jolt presents our community with seemingly endless possibilities, high expectations and beautiful ways to express our wairua and tell our stories.
