After graduating with a BA degree from the University of Canterbury and a Diploma in Teaching from the Auckland College of Education, Lyn moved into integrated dance in 1995 in London where she first encountered, then worked and trained alongside, Wolfgang Stange – Artistic Director of Amici, one of England’s foremost integrated dance companies. Returning to Aotearoa in 1998, Lyn began teaching integrated dance classes at local secondary schools and day centres before establishing Jolt in 2001. 

As Artistic Director, Lyn has built Jolt into a ground-breaking and fearlessly innovative dance company, pioneering initiatives such as Jolt Interactive, performances designed specifically for diverse audiences, and Move, New Zealand’s only dance teacher training programme for people with disabilities.  

In 2014 Lyn won the Attitude TV Award for “Making a Difference” and in 2016 she received a Winston Churchill Fellowship.
