Joel was a foundation dancer with Jolt, alongside his brother Daniel. He performed in the 2021 Jolt Interactive production Song, and the 2022 national tour of The Seasons. He has also been employed as a solo artist by Touch Compass. Joel has taught extensively for Jolt, including workshops for Māori and Pasifika communities, and Tukutuku in 2022 at Shirley Boys’ / Avonside Girls’ High School with Waikahu Ferndale Satellite Unit. In 2023 Joel created and performed his own work, Whakapapa.
